from merlin …

a city i didn't plan to love on unexpected places and the moments that stay

… about my vacation

i didn't have much time. i never do. but some places find a way to stay with you anyway.

The schedule rarely leaves room for much else. You arrive, you prepare, you play, you leave. That's the rhythm. And most of the time, you don't question it.

‍

But every now and then, a place catches you off guard.I didn't plan to fall for this city. I didn't even plan to really see it. But there I was, standing on a hill above it all, looking out over rooftops and streets I didn't know — and something slowed down. Not dramatically. Just quietly.

There's something humbling about being somewhere unfamiliar. No one knows who you are. The city doesn't care about last weekend's result. It just exists, the way it has for centuries, completely indifferent to football.

‍

I think that's what I needed without knowing it.I took a few photos. Didn't post them right away. Just kept them for myself for a while — the way you do with things that feel a little too personal to share immediately.I don't know when I'll be back. Maybe I won't. But that afternoon on that hill is one of those small moments I'll carry with me for a long time.

‍

Some places don't need much time to leave a mark.
